The EU's sustainability reporting landscape is shifting fast. With the Omnibus revision moving through the legislative pipeline and new ESRS expected to be formally adopted around June 2026, companies need to understand not just what's changing - but what it means for their reporting in practice. In a recent webinar, Willow Sustainability's Galina Parmenter and independent consultant Gabriella Lovas ,moderated by Neda Shishmanova, did exactly that: cut through the noise and get into the detail on two of the most demanding standards, E1 Climate Change and E3 Water.

Simpler Standards, But Not Simple

The revised ESRS are built around one core ambition: reduce the burden without losing substance. Mandatory datapoints are being cut significantly, the approach is becoming more principles-based, and companies get more flexibility in how they present their sustainability story. But simpler rules don't automatically make compliance easier — especially if you're starting from scratch.

E1 and E3: What You Need to Know

The webinar goes deep on both standards — covering what's been removed, what's been restructured, and crucially, what still needs to get done. Common mistakes, good practice examples from real company reports, and practical guidance on where to focus your energy first are all on the agenda.

The Clock Is Already Ticking

For some of the requirements discussed, the internal processes alone can take months. If you're waiting for the final standards before acting, you may already be behind.
